Where Did My Money Go?Beta

See where your money really went.

Upload a bank, credit card or payment app statement. We’ll show you where it went, which subscriptions you forgot about and where to start cutting.

Don’t trust us?Fair enough. Clean it yourself first.

Clean out your personal details with an AI you already trust, then upload the cleaned file here. Take out only your own name, account and card numbers, address and anything else personal. Leave the shops, businesses and people you paid, or the report gets less accurate. We still clean it again on our end.

  1. 1Open any AI you trust
  2. 2Paste the prompt below with your statement
  3. 3Save the answer as a .csv file and upload it here

Open it in

Opens a new chat with the prompt already filled in. Attach your statement there, then save the reply as a .csv file.

Prompt to copy

Remove only my own personal details from this bank or card statement: my name, address, phone number, email address, account and card numbers, and ID numbers. Keep the names of shops, businesses and other people I paid, and keep every date and amount exactly as it is. Return only a CSV with the columns Date,Description,Amount and one transaction per line, so I can save it as a .csv file.

In that step your statement goes to the AI you choose, under its own terms and privacy policy, not to us.

  1. Exhibit A

    “My salary lasts the month.”

    Payday fade

We count the days until half your pay has left the account. Write your guess down first.

  2. Exhibit B

    “It’s only small stuff.”

We add every small repeat purchase into one number. It stops being small stuff pretty quickly.

  3. Exhibit C

    Spree days

Room to improve. Small changes add up fast.

  • Late-night food delivery

    14 orders after 10pm · $287 this month

Most of these orders came after 10pm, on weeknights. Planning one simple dinner could cut them in half.

  • Forgotten free trial

$14.99 charged 3 months after it started

The trial turned into a paid plan without a reminder. If you do not use it, it can go today.

How it works, step by step

We remove these details by matching patterns, so it isn’t perfect. You can check the cleaned text before you go on.

Example: statement lines with a name, account number and payment IDs. Your name and your account and reference numbers are covered before anything is analysed. Shops and people you paid keep their names, so payments are sorted correctly. Each payment then gets a category, and the report is deleted after 48 hours.

  1. 1You upload

Drop a bank, card or payment app statement. PDF or CSV both work.

  2. 2We clean it

Sent over an encrypted connection. Your name, account and card numbers, phone and email are removed. Shops keep their names.

  3. 3We analyse

Only the cleaned text is read. The file itself is then discarded.

  4. 4It expires

Your report is deleted automatically after 48 hours.

Questions

How is this different from my banking app?

Your bank shows a list of transactions. We read the whole list and tell you what it means: your habits, the small buys that add up, forgotten subscriptions, your most expensive month and a plan, in about 30 seconds instead of a weekend with a spreadsheet.

Is it safe to upload my statement?

Your file is sent over an encrypted connection, read, cleaned of account and card numbers, phone numbers and emails, and thrown away. It’s never saved. Only the finished report is kept, for 48 hours. There’s more detail in our guide to uploading a statement safely.

Which statements work?

Bank, credit card and payment app statements as PDF or CSV. If one cannot be read, try a CSV download from your bank.

How do I download my bank statement?

Look for “Statements” or “Download transactions” in your banking app or website, and choose CSV or Excel if you can. Every bank hides it somewhere different, so we wrote step-by-step guides for 21 banks and apps.

How many months does it look at?

The free checkup reads up to 800 statement lines from the latest 6 months. Premium reads up to 6,000 lines and Max up to 20,000, which is usually 3 to 5 years and 10 years or more of an everyday account. If a statement is longer, we keep the newest lines and the report tells you. Very long statements are partly read by our simpler reader, so the report marks its figures as estimates. Per-month figures are shown so a long statement is not mistaken for one month.

Which currencies work?

Twenty of the most used currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, JPY and AUD. The currency is picked up from your statement.

What are the tones?

Polite, Brutal Roast and Money Therapist (calm and kind). Pick one from the top bar. The numbers and findings come from fixed rules in our own code and are the same in every tone; only the wording and colours change. Money Therapist is not therapy or financial advice.

Which languages?

The website is available in English, Hindi, Hinglish, Spanish and Portuguese. Your report’s commentary can also be written in French, German, Arabic, Bengali or Tamil. Pick one from the top bar. Translations are written with the help of AI, so they can sound a little less natural than English.

Is this financial advice?

No. It’s information and ideas based on your statement, and the estimates can be off. Check the numbers against your own records.

What if I pay and something goes wrong?

See the refund page. If you were charged and the report did not unlock, you get your money back.
